Grundausbildung beim THW sind allein um die 6 Monate. Ist ja gut, wenn mehr Leute mal mit Katastrophen- und Zivilschutz in Kontakt kommen, aber wenn man Pech hat, bekommen die ihre Uniform wenn die Dienstzeit zu Ende ist. Der Dienst ist nicht so zeitintensiv, wir reden hier von ein paar Stunden pro Woche. Man kann das also neben Arbeit/Ausbildung/Studium machen.

Deshalb wäre eine Verpflichtung über ein paar Jahre machbar und aus Sicht der Organisationen sinnvoller. So war es auch zu Zeiten der Wehrpflicht, wo man sich 6 bzw. 4 Jahre verpflichtet hat und dann halt nicht verweigern oder zum Bund gehen musste.

Now, put everything together: a = 7 cos (alpha/2), b = h cot(90 - alpha) = 7 sin(alpha/2) tan(alpha), r = 12 / sin(alpha/2).

a + b = r <=> cos(alpha/2) sin(alpha/2) + sin^2(alpha/2) tan(alpha) = 12 / 7

1/2 sin(alpha) + 1/2(1 - cos(alpha)) tan(alpha) = 12/7 <=> tan(alpha) = 24/7

From the identity for h we know that x = 7 sin(alpha/2) / cos(alpha). Insert alpha = arctan(24/7)
